Gwangju mayor inspects key project sites as part of '100-Day Field Communication' initiative

Gwangju Mayor Park Gwan-yeol visited key project sites Tuesday as part of the city's "100-Day Field Communication" initiative, a field-focused outreach effort launched under the ninth elected administration to strengthen on-site governance. The mayor reviewed progress on urban development, road construction and park development projects.

The inspections were designed to go beyond routine progress checks, identifying problems and obstacles arising during construction and exploring practical solutions.

At the Gyeongan District 2 urban development project site, Park and city officials reviewed the project's direction and assessed pending issues related to systematic development and improving residential conditions in the area.

The group then visited the construction site for a new interchange ramp on the Seongnam-Janghowan expressway, where they assessed construction progress, surrounding traffic conditions and factors causing inconvenience to commuters. Park instructed site officials to minimize disruption to residents and maintain strict safety management throughout the construction period.

At the Paldang water-mist park development site, officials reviewed accessibility for different age groups and efficient use of space, and discussed various approaches to creating rest and leisure areas.

The city plans to actively incorporate feedback and issues gathered during the inspections into the ongoing project planning process.

"I will continue visiting key project sites to check on progress, communicate with residents and strengthen field-centered administration," Park said.
