'It felt like a festival' — behind the scenes of Yang Jun-mo and Yang Ji-won's lavish wedding

Details have emerged about the lavish wedding of actor Yang Ji-won, a former member of the girl group Spica, and musical actor Yang Jun-mo, who married after announcing a pregnancy.

The couple wed Monday at Raum Art Center in Yeoksam-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul, in a ceremony attended by family, friends and fellow performers.

A social media user identified only as A, who said he had been friends with Yang Jun-mo for 30 years, shared an account of the event Tuesday, describing it as "the wedding of my proud friend Yang Jun-mo, who was my high school desk mate."

"Hundreds of actors attended, and there were as many as five or six groups performing congratulatory speeches and songs," A wrote. "It was not a wedding — it was truly a festival."

He also marveled at the bride, writing, "How can someone be this beautiful with a baby on the way? She was the most beautiful bride I have seen in recent memory."

Colleagues of the couple took to the stage that day to perform in celebration.

Kim Bo-a, Kim Bo-hyeong and Narae — members of Spica, the group Yang Ji-won once belonged to — performed a congratulatory song, and Yang Jun-mo himself sang a number he had personally prepared for his bride.

Meanwhile, Yang Ji-won had announced both her marriage and pregnancy through her SNS on Aug. 24.

"I had originally planned to get married in early next year, but we were so thankfully blessed with a new life, so I will become a mother at 40 next year," she said. "That is why we moved the ceremony up a little."

This is Yang Jun-mo's second marriage. When he announced the wedding without identifying his new partner, he also belatedly revealed that he had divorced his former wife in 2023.

Yang Ji-won made her debut in 2012 as a member of Spica before expanding her career into acting. Yang Jun-mo debuted in 2004 in the opera "Geumgang" and built his reputation through numerous productions, including "The Phantom of the Opera," "Les Misérables," "Jekyll & Hyde," "Empress Myeongseong" and "Hero."
