Busan International Film Festival opens ticket sales Sept. 17

The 31st Busan International Film Festival will open ticket sales Sept. 17.

According to the festival, reservations for the opening and closing ceremonies, outdoor screenings at Open Cinema, late-night screenings at Midnight Passion, Actors House and Community BIFF programs will begin at 2 p.m. on Sept. 17.

Tickets for general screenings, Cine Class and Master Class will go on sale at 2 p.m. on Sept. 21.

The full screening schedule will be released at 5 p.m. on Sept. 11. All reservations are made through the festival's official website, and remaining or canceled seats may be purchased at BIFF box offices during the festival period.

This year, the festival has further lowered barriers to attendance in an effort to create an inclusive viewing environment for all. Audio descriptions for the visually impaired and subtitle services for the hearing impaired will be available.

Eleven films will be screened in barrier-free versions, including Gala Presentation "Dora," special program selections "Everything Everywhere All at Once" and "Sandiwara," Icon entry "Fjord," Vision-Korea titles "Bailor" and "Beyond the Horizon of Love," Korean Cinema's Special Premiere entries "Jeonggane" and "Generation Grudge," Flash Forward selections "Sad Girls" and "Bedford Park," and Wide Angle documentary showcase "Colors of the Wind."

A dedicated on-site ticketing window for those with limited digital access will be expanded from last year. A limited number of seats will be sold in person to those aged 65 and older (born in 1961 or earlier) and to people with disabilities. General screenings for the same day and the following day can be reserved at all BIFF box offices.

In addition, as part of the festival's social contribution program "Warm Sharing," a portion of ticket sales for films marked with a "♣" symbol in the schedule will be donated to major welfare organizations including the Community Chest of Korea and Good Neighbors. A total of 15 films will participate in the program this year.

The 31st Busan International Film Festival runs from Sept. 6 to Sept. 15 at the Busan Cinema Center and surrounding venues.
