Monsta X, Fifty Fifty performances draw attention
Road FC 078 drew more than 7 million online streams on the day of the event, boosted by K-pop performances on the card.
The event was held Saturday at Jangchung Arena in Seoul. To mark mixed martial arts' inclusion as an official sport at the 2026 Aichi-Nagoya Asian Games, the event featured a send-off ceremony for South Korea's national MMA team alongside celebratory performances by K-pop groups Monsta X and Fifty Fifty.
Road FC said Wednesday that its live stream on the Daum portal recorded 7.44 million views on the day of the event.
The 18 bouts on the card also drew attention in their own right, with a string of upsets and emphatic knockouts. Kim Hyun-woo stopped Yang Ji-yong by KO in the second round to claim the interim bantamweight title, while Pyeon Ye-jun knocked out Russian contender Sunnatulo Azizov.
The next event, Road FC 079, is scheduled for Nov. 1 at Jangchung Arena in Seoul.
