Gachon University will accept applications for its 2027 academic year early admissions from Monday through Friday, with a deadline of 6 p.m. on the final day. Of the 4,672 freshmen the university plans to enroll next year, about 72 percent — or 3,365 students — will be admitted through early admissions, with the remaining 1,307 selected through regular admissions.
This year's early admissions cycle includes several changes, centered on the essay-based and school record-based tracks.
The essay-based admissions track, previously limited to the pre-medicine program, has been expanded this year to include the Korean medicine and pharmacy programs. A regional physician selection track has also been added to the school record-based admissions category. The top school record track will calculate academic scores using two methods and apply whichever is more favorable to the applicant, while the first-round selection ratio for the comprehensive school record track has been reduced from five times the quota to four times.
The early admissions process is broadly divided into three tracks: essay-based, school record-based and comprehensive school record-based admissions.
