Guro-gu receives 5 million won donation to support social welfare facility workers
Guro-gu received a 5 million won ($3,650) donation from health food company Alle on Wednesday at Renaissance Hall in the district office to support workers at local social welfare facilities.
The donation ceremony was attended by Guro-gu District Mayor Jang In-hong, Alle CEO Kim Si-hwang and representatives from the Guro Hope Welfare Foundation, who marked the occasion with a commemorative photo.
The funds have been designated to the Guro Hope Welfare Foundation and will be used for the "Social Worker Healing Program," which supports welfare facility staff across the district.
The program is run by the Guro-gu Social Welfare Council to help social welfare facility workers recharge and build professional connections. It includes training sessions, networking among participants and policy discussions.
Alle has maintained a giving relationship with Guro-gu over the years. Last year the company donated health functional foods for senior care service recipients and contributed to the "Huimang Deoham" learning support project, and in February it provided multivitamins.
"I am grateful to CEO Kim Si-hwang for his continued commitment to sharing with our community's welfare sector," District Mayor Jang said. "We will keep working to improve working conditions and support for social welfare facility workers so they can do their jobs in a better environment."
