'He's more handsome than his grandfather': Lee Man-ki shows off triplet grandchildren

Broadcaster and former grand champion sumo wrestler Lee Man-ki has introduced his triplet grandchildren to the public.

A video titled "A bombshell comment from my wife while raising triplets! How does grand champion Lee Man-ki react?" was posted Wednesday on Lee's YouTube channel, Man-ki TV.

In the video, Lee could not take his eyes off the triplets — Geon-yu, Da-yu and So-yu — the moment he walked through the door, picking each one up in his arms and repeatedly saying, "You've grown so much" and "How adorable."

Cradling his grandson Geon-yu, Lee said viewers of Man-ki TV had told him the baby looked just like him, but he disagreed. "I think he's the spitting image of his father when he was little," he said. "I don't think he looks much like me."

Holding Geon-yu up to the camera, Lee spoke on the baby's behalf: "Hello" — then added, "He's more handsome than his grandfather."

Lee attempted to change his granddaughter's diaper with his wife's help, but his unfamiliar movements left him visibly flustered. His wife revealed that he had not helped with child-rearing when their own children were young, saying he had used being busy as an excuse. Lee explained that his large hands made him nervous about accidentally hurting the babies, who were so small.

When the conversation turned to the cost of diapers and formula being tripled for triplets, family members chimed in: "Grandfather, you'd better go out and earn a lot of money. The diaper and formula bills for these three are no joke."

Lee promised another visit, telling the babies, "Next time grandfather comes, I'll make you lots of delicious food."

Lee first announced he had become a grandfather in May on KBS 1TV's morning talk show "Achim Madang," saying his eldest son and daughter-in-law had welcomed triplets.
