Woman caught on doorbell camera sprinkling chili powder on neighbor's belongings

A woman was caught on a doorbell camera sprinkling chili powder on her neighbor's belongings, apparently over a dispute about a barking dog.

The story of resident A, who lives in a villa complex in Incheon, was featured Wednesday on JTBC's "Sageon Banjang," a crime news program.

According to A, the conflict began in March with neighbor B, a woman who had moved into the building last year.

B had complained that A's dog was barking too loudly, but footage from a home camera inside A's unit showed no sign of excessive barking.

A suspected B may have confused the noise with that from another unit, as several households in the building keep dogs.

A plastic bag filled with chili powder was later found outside A's front door, along with a note reading, "Live cleaning up dog feces." When items left outside the door began disappearing as well, A ultimately installed a doorbell camera.

The camera then captured B sprinkling chili powder on items outside A's door. B was also filmed bringing cooking oil and pouring it over the belongings.

Another resident reported similar harassment, claiming B had sprayed beer on baby products left outside her door. That resident also installed a doorbell camera after the incidents kept recurring.

Residents said B has been making hammering-like noises at all hours. The noise has continued for about six months, causing considerable stress among those in the building.

A resident raising a 5-month-old child also came forward with complaints. The infant had recently been discharged from the hospital after treatment for a cerebral hemorrhage and needs rest at home, but the constant noise has made that difficult, the resident said.
