Actor Ji Ye-eun, choreographer Bata to wed 8 months after going public

Actor Ji Ye-eun, 31, and choreographer Bata, 31 — whose real name is Kim Tae-hyun — are set to marry, eight months after confirming their relationship in April.

On Wednesday, Ji announced the news on her Instagram, writing that she had been deliberating over when and how to share something so precious before finally saying: "I'm getting married."

She described her husband-to-be as "someone who always takes my side, gives me strength, and showed me the happiness of sharing life together."

"Until now, marriage somehow felt like a distant concept in my life," she added. "But I've found someone I want to spend my whole life with. We will be each other's steadfast support and live healthily and happily. I would be so grateful for your warm encouragement and blessings."

The couple plan to hold their wedding ceremony at an undisclosed venue in Seoul on Dec. 12.

Bata also posted on his Instagram the same day, saying he wanted to share "a new chapter in my life" with those who had sent him "unwavering love and support." "I have met the most precious person in my life, and we are going to get married," he wrote.

He described Ji as "a gift of a person who sees and loves me just as I am," adding that she was "someone I'm truly grateful for — she taught me what love is, when all I ever knew was work."

"From now on, we will lean on each other and live a happy life together," Bata said. "I would be so thankful for your warm congratulations. I will try to give back as much as the support you have shown me."

The two met as church friends and grew close through shared interests and faith before becoming a couple. Bata choreographed "Milkshake," a single by Chungju Ji-ssi — a project group formed by Ji Ye-eun and Ji Suk-jin — last year, and joined the group when they performed at Waterbomb Seoul 2025.

Since going public, Ji has mentioned Bata on variety shows including "Running Man" and "Pinggye-go," while Bata has openly shared affection by posting photos of the two of them on his Instagram.

Ji's agency, CP Entertainment, said the couple "have made a commitment to share their lives together, grounded in deep trust," and asked fans to "offer warm congratulations and support as they stand on the threshold of a new beginning."

Bata's agency, Aira, said the pair "are starting a new journey as a married couple after finding a precious bond," adding that they "have promised to be each other's most steadfast partners, built on deep trust and love," and asked for warm blessings.

Ji rose to prominence through her distinctive character performances on Coupang Play's "SNL Korea Reboot Season 3" and has since continued her variety career with appearances on SBS's "Running Man," "Daehwanjang Gian-jang" and "Yoo Jae-seok Camp."

Bata is the leader of dance crew WDBZ and made his name as a choreography director when he finished runner-up on Mnet's "Street Man Fighter" in 2022.
