Six people have been selected as recipients of the third Bucheon City Civic Award.
This year's honorees are Kim Tae-ung, former head of the Bucheon City Voluntary Disaster Prevention Corps, in the social service category; Park Jong-hyeon, chairman of the Federation of Korean Trade Unions' Bucheon-Gimpo regional branch, in the industrial and economic category; Bang Seung-hun, swimming director of the Bucheon City Hall workplace sports team, in the sports promotion category; Shin Mi-ja, chief executive of GN Green Co., in the environment category; Kim Young-chan, principal of Bucheon High School, in the education and academic category; and Eom Jeong-tae, head of Samil Industrial, in the community development category.
Bucheon will present the awards at a ceremony marking Citizens' Day on Oct. 1.
The Bucheon City Civic Award recognizes residents who have dedicated themselves to local community development and contributed to raising the city's profile in their respective fields.
