BIGBANG's Daesung's apartment, bought for W1.45b, now worth W100b

An apartment in Seoul's Heukseok-dong that BIGBANG member Daesung purchased 11 years ago for 1.45 billion won ($1.06 million) is now estimated to be worth 100 billion won, according to recent reports.

A YouTube channel called "wander planet," which covers celebrity real estate, recently released a video titled "BIGBANG Daesung's Han River-view apartment worth 100 billion won: Heukseok Mark Hills (a.k.a. the best spot for the fireworks festival)."

According to the video, Daesung purchased a unit at Heukseok Mark Hills in Heukseok-dong, Dongjak-gu, Seoul in the summer of 2015 for about 1.45 billion won and has lived there for 11 years.

The unit measures 275 square meters, with four bedrooms and three bathrooms. Its current market value is estimated at around 100 billion won — roughly seven times what Daesung paid for it.

Heukseok Mark Hills is an 18-unit luxury residential complex where every unit offers a Han River view. It is also known as a prime spot for watching the Seoul International Fireworks Festival from home.

The complex previously served as the newlywed home of actor Jang Dong-gun and his wife Ko So-young, and actor Hyun Bin lived there for about 11 years. Current residents are said to include former national figure skating team member Kim Yeon-a and her husband Ko Woo-rim of Forestella, as well as singer Jung Su-jung.

The value of a building in Cheongdam-dong that Daesung is also reported to own has risen sharply. The video estimated that Daesung bought the building in 2017 for 31 billion won and that it is now worth more than 90 billion won. Combined with the apartment, his total estimated real estate holdings exceed 100 billion won.

Daesung debuted with BIGBANG in 2007. He is currently on his world tour "XX: COSMOS," performing across 19 cities worldwide with a total of 33 shows spanning North America, Europe, Oceania and Asia.
