Creator vows periodic legal action against online abusers
YouTuber Ayolyi, whose real name is Kim Min-young, has gone public with a series of malicious comments directed at her and announced she is taking legal action.
On Thursday, Ayolyi posted photos to her social media showing a document prepared by a law firm that compiled comments she is pursuing under insult charges.
Among the comments cited in the filing were remarks mocking her divorce and age with crude language, including phrases such as "An old hag divorcee might get triggered and sue you for talking about herself" and "Is the discarded piece of junk throwing a tantrum?" — along with other slurs reducing her to her marital status and age.
The document notes that all of the comments fall under Article 311 of the Criminal Act, which covers criminal insult.
Alongside the post, Ayolyi wrote "periodically, for a healthy internet culture," signaling that she intends to pursue legal action against abusive commenters on a regular basis.
Online users reacted with approval, leaving comments such as "Time for some financial therapy," "The wording is filthy and low-class," "Bundles of inferiority complexes," and "I hope they all get punished."
Meanwhile, Ayolyi married racing driver Seo Ju-won in 2018 but divorced in 2022. She recently made headlines after going public with her relationship with Korean medicine doctor Kim Hyeong-bae.
