Owner ignores leash request at beach, saying 'my dog doesn't bite' — then large dog attacks small one

A video showing an unleashed large dog charging at and attacking another pet at a crowded beach has drawn widespread criticism online.

The footage, filmed at Haeundae Beach in Busan, spread Thursday across multiple online communities and social media platforms under titles such as "My dog doesn't bite."

According to the posts, a beach enforcement officer asked the large dog's owner to put a leash on the animal, but the owner refused, saying, "My dog doesn't bite."

The video tells a different story: a white large-breed dog running unleashed across the sand spots a small dog being held by a passerby and lunges at it.

The small dog's owner desperately tried to push the large dog away, but it would not stop attacking. The commotion ended only after the large dog's owner managed to restrain the animal.

Online commenters reacted with anger. "They ignored the leash warning and sure enough, something bad happened," one wrote. Others said the owner "should have at least used a muzzle" if opposed to a leash, and questioned why anyone would let a dog run free "in a crowded public place when you can't even control it." Some expressed frustration that irresponsible owners give all pet owners a bad name, while others called for stricter enforcement and penalties.
