Hankook Tire donates tires to Italian Red Cross for second consecutive year

Hankook Tire & Technology announced Friday that it is donating tires to the Italian Red Cross for the second consecutive year, continuing its corporate social responsibility efforts in the local community.

The donation is intended to support the safe and smooth operation of emergency relief, rescue and medical transport vehicles run by the Italian Red Cross. The tires will be fitted on Red Cross vehicles carrying out emergency response, rescue and patient transport operations across Italy.

In addition, a cash contribution will go toward strengthening the Italian Red Cross's field response capabilities. The funds are set to improve the efficiency of emergency response, rescue and relief operations, enhance monitoring and assessment of field conditions, and support search-and-rescue activities. They will also help bolster the safety of personnel working in the field, enabling faster and more effective operations.

The initiative is part of Hankook Tire's corporate social responsibility program, which centers on safety, mobility and tangible community support. Building on a partnership with the Italian Red Cross that began last year, the company is extending its support this year, contributing to the safety and welfare of local communities in Italy.

"We will continue to identify beneficiary-centered CSR programs tailored to the characteristics and needs of each community, and actively fulfill our social responsibilities as a leading global tire company through close collaboration," a Hankook Tire official said.

Meanwhile, Hankook Tire carries out community-focused CSR activities centered on its global production bases, including those in Italy, Hungary, the United States, Indonesia and China.

In Hungary, the company has donated tires since 2012 to support local organizations across a wide range of areas, including emergency services, healthcare, disaster response and environmental protection. In Indonesia, it runs programs suited to local needs, such as installing water pumps and LED streetlights.
