Kim Min-seok tells Han Dong-hoon to focus on his own legislative work

Democratic Party of Korea leader Kim Min-seok criticized independent lawmaker Han Dong-hoon for his repeated attacks on Justice Minister nominee Kim Seung-won, saying Han has yet to get a feel for how to conduct himself as a lawmaker and that it is time for him to face his own scrutiny rather than fixate on confirmation hearings.

Speaking at a supreme council meeting in Hongseong, South Chungcheong Province on Friday, Kim said Han keeps seeking the Democratic Party's attention likely because the People Power Party will not engage with him. "I hope he finds a consistent focus for his legislative activities," Kim said.

Kim said Han "shows no sign of reflecting on matters he should be reflecting on, and instead suddenly opens fire in all directions." He welcomed Han's support for integrating the KTX and SRT rail services but said the move was puzzling given that Han had previously criticized others for taking credit for the Lone Star litigation victory.

Kim also weighed in on the acquittal of former lawmaker Noh Woong-rae on appeal in a political funds law violation case, saying Han had "stirred up outrage in the National Assembly with talk of 'rustling sounds'" when he served as justice minister at the time.
