17 companies in shipbuilding, defense, nuclear power and mobility take part
Listed and unlisted firms present technology and growth strategies directly to investors
Program launched in 2021 now has 4,400 members; K-content edition planned for October
Seventeen promising companies in shipbuilding, defense, nuclear power and mobility — sectors drawing growing attention on the domestic stock market — pitched themselves to investors at a single IR event. Samsung Securities brought together not only listed companies but also unlisted small and mid-sized firms and startups, targeting institutional investors' demand for new investment opportunities.
Samsung Securities said Friday it held its "KSS IR Day" on Aug. 28 at Samsung Financial Campus in Seocho-gu, Seoul, under the theme "The Power of Korea: K-Momentum."
At the event, Samsung Securities analyst Han Young-su delivered a presentation on the medium- to long-term growth outlook for the industries under the theme "Super Cycle." The 17 listed and unlisted companies in shipbuilding, defense, nuclear power and mobility then introduced their technologies and growth strategies, with each firm's CEO and IR officer presenting directly and engaging with investors.
About 200 people attended after pre-registering through Samsung Securities, including representatives from venture capital firms, corporate venture capital units, private equity funds, asset management companies and general corporations. The event was designed to expand direct contact between companies and investors seeking to identify promising K-momentum plays.
Participating companies included Green Optics, Sensorview, Enertork, Hogreen Air, Quantum Aero, J-Labs, MU-Tron, Verti, KMCP, DeepFusion AI, TASS Global, Neo Acro Robotics, Top Mobility, Mobility One, RTM, Beyond-R and GIF Korea.
The event was notable for directly connecting companies with investors and providing IR opportunities in one place. Companies could meet multiple investors at once, while institutional investors could survey promising firms across specific sectors — shipbuilding, defense, nuclear power and mobility — in a single session. The inclusion of unlisted companies alongside listed ones further broadened the channels of communication between companies and investors.
Oh Sun-mi, executive director of SNI and platform strategy at Samsung Securities, said the firm selects a market theme each month and curates companies that fit it.
Samsung Securities' KSS IR Day launched in August 2021 and is held around specific industry themes. The program runs both online and offline, and as of late August had approximately 4,400 registered members.
Samsung Securities plans to hold a follow-up IR event on Oct. 15, inviting listed and unlisted companies under the theme "K-content to watch next year."
