Singer Seo In-young has shared behind-the-scenes footage of her Waterbomb festival performance.
A video titled "The first reveal of Seo In-young's tearful Waterbomb scene, prepared at the risk of her life" was posted Thursday on her YouTube channel "Gaegwacheonson Seo In-young."
Discussing the choreography for her Waterbomb set, Seo said she had trained for a month and a half. "It became a month and a half because I got liposuction in the middle," she said. "If I hadn't done it, I could have practiced more."
"I don't think I'll ever be able to get liposuction again," she said. "But my satisfaction level is so high. I'm glad I just lay down in the hospital when I did."
She also revealed that she had suffered hypotensive shock following the procedure. She recalled being in such poor physical condition at the time that she had to use a wheelchair at the hospital.
Managing her weight for the stage comeback was another challenge. After once slimming down to 46 kilograms, Seo said she adjusted her diet when she gained back about 4 kilograms. She also showed bruising left by skin treatments and arm liposuction.
Seo said the Waterbomb appearance marked her return to the stage after 10 years, expressing excitement as she explained the long absence. "I stopped doing events because of panic disorder," she said. "If I was in a car for a long time, I would get claustrophobia. This was truly my first event in 10 years."
"The wheelchair at the hospital, the hypotensive shock after the liposuction, all the criticism I took, and then ending up at Waterbomb because I said the wrong thing — all of that flashed before my eyes, and on Thursday I suddenly burst into tears," she said.
Taking the stage, Seo called out to the crowd, "This is really my first time in 10 years," her voice filled with emotion. After the performance ended, she dropped to her knees in tears as the audience cheered.
