Nongshim heir Shin Sang-yeol to wed SK Telecom employee

Shin Sang-yeol, executive vice president of Nongshim and a third-generation heir to the food conglomerate, is set to marry an SK Telecom employee.

According to food industry sources, Shin is scheduled to hold his wedding ceremony on Sept. 13 with a rank-and-file SK Telecom employee.

Born in 1993, Shin worked as an intern at Nongshim for two years beginning in 2015. He later graduated from Columbia University with a degree in industrial engineering in 2019 and joined Nongshim's management planning division the same year. He subsequently served as senior managing director in charge of procurement and as senior managing director of the future business division before being promoted to executive managing director in November 2024, then to executive vice president in January this year.

Shin is the grandson of the late Nongshim founder Shin Chun-ho and the eldest son of Nongshim Chairman Shin Dong-won.
