El Cubito, a Spanish restaurant operated by T'sis, the leisure and infrastructure affiliate of Taekwang Group, is launching a special promotion tied to the "Georg Baselitz Retrospective" at Sehwa Museum. The promotion, announced Thursday, lets visitors enjoy fine art and fine dining together.
The promotion consists of three parts — a special ticket package, a special dining voucher and a Baselitz-themed course menu — and will run through Dec. 27, when the exhibition closes.
The special ticket package bundles a fixed-amount voucher, worth either 100,000 won ($75) or 50,000 won, with an exhibition ticket. The special dining voucher offers a set menu at roughly 40 percent off the regular price. The Baselitz-themed course, meanwhile, draws inspiration from the artist's Remix series.
"By combining food and art, we aim to expand the value of the cultural and artistic infrastructure held by Taekwang Group and offer our customers new cultural and culinary experiences," an official from T'sis' food and beverage division said.
Meanwhile, the retrospective of Georg Baselitz, a master of German contemporary art, is the first museum-level retrospective held since the artist's death in April. The exhibition features 46 representative works spanning more than six decades of Baselitz's career, from his early pieces in the 1960s to his late-period Gold Painting series. The show includes works never before shown in South Korea.
