Unlock the Magic of Parent-Child Communication With the P·A·C Method!

Dongdaemun-gu in Seoul will hold a parenting education session Wednesday for parents of infants and toddlers enrolled in local daycare centers, centered on the theme "Three Inner Voices: The Magic of Communication Through P·A·C."

The session is designed to help parents reflect on their own emotions and behavioral patterns while learning healthy ways to understand and connect with their children.

The lecture will be led by Kim Su-jin, director of the psychological counseling center Maumsim at Geumcheon Public Health Center. The curriculum draws on Eric Berne's Transactional Analysis (TA) theory, guiding parents to recognize their inner states through three distinct "voices" — Parent (P), Adult (A) and Child (C).

Through this framework, participants will learn to examine their own feelings and habits, develop healthier communication skills that open up their children emotionally, and build a more positive parenting environment at home.

The 90-minute session will run from 10:30 a.m. to noon Wednesday via live Zoom videoconference. After the session, a recorded version will be available as a YouTube lecture through the Dongdaemun-gu Comprehensive Childcare Support Center website from Thursday through Oct. 8.

Dongdaemun-gu District Mayor Choi Dong-min said he hoped the session would serve as a meaningful opportunity for parents and children to understand and empathize with each other and grow together as they navigate the challenges of raising a child. "Our children are the most precious beings in the world," he said. He added that the district would continue to listen to parents and work to create an environment where children can grow up bright and healthy.
