Kang Jin-mo, chairman of ITcenGlobal and candidate No. 2 in the Korea Billiards Federation presidential election, has announced four campaign pledges and 12 detailed action items covering player development, fiscal strengthening, digital transformation and expansion of international competitiveness.
Kang said he would build a development pipeline spanning youth players through national team athletes and retired competitors, while broadening grassroots participation in the sport. He also plans to strengthen the federation's fiscal base by securing corporate sponsorships and generating revenue through tournament intellectual property rights.
He further pledged to integrate player registration, match records and rankings into a single platform, and to introduce AI-based video review and match data analysis systems. Kang also said he would pursue enhanced national team support targeting the 2030 Asian Games, attract international competitions to Korea, and seek official international recognition for the Korea Open.
"I will connect billiards with people, industry, technology and the world, and make it a leading sport with a standing worthy of its talent," Kang said.
The election is a by-election triggered by the resignation of former federation President Seo Su-gil, who stepped down in August after roughly one and a half years in office for personal reasons. Voting will be held online Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
