Ko Young-wook, a former member of the group Rula, has taken aim at webtoon artist and broadcaster Kian84 over his hygiene habits.
On Wednesday, Ko posted on his X (formerly Twitter) account: "If I had met someone like this in prison, I would have set him straight."
The post included a screenshot from the Netflix variety show "Daehwanjang Kian-jang 2," in which Kian84 admits he had not changed his underwear.
Ko wrote, "I change my underwear at least twice a day, so I can't even begin to understand living that filthily on your own — but how can someone do that while filming with a group of people?" He added, "This isn't anything new, but the entertainment industry is really going downhill."
In a recently released episode of "Daehwanjang Kian-jang 2," Kian84, Kim Yeon-kyung and Dex are shown discussing hygiene.
Kim Yeon-kyung brought up an incident in which Kian84 passed gas in front of a group of people, revealing, "He had already gone three days without changing his underwear at that point. I checked."
Kim then asked, "Isn't it mandatory to wash up in the military? Don't you have to maintain basic cleanliness?" to which Dex replied, "Not washing is a violation of military law."
Kian84 offered a defense, saying, "When I was in the military, they kept telling me to wash up so much that it kind of made me not want to once I got out."
When Kim pointed out his habit of lying in bed while sweaty, Kian84 said, "When you keep telling me to wash, it brings back that trauma. I developed a rebellious streak because of officers like you." He added, "I'll wash when I want to wash."
When Kim asked, "So that's why you don't wash?", Kian84 said, "I do wash — on my own schedule."
Ko was indicted on charges of sexually assaulting and molesting minors and in 2013 was sentenced to two years and six months in prison, which he has since served. He has been drawing attention on his X account by posting critical messages naming fellow Rula members as well as entertainment figures including Yoo Jae-seok, Shin Dong-yeop, Park Ha-sun and Seo In-young.
