Map-based platform lets residents check project status at a glance
Key details including project overview available in one place
Seoul's Nowon-gu announced Thursday that it will launch "Nowon Reconstruction & Redevelopment NOW ON" on the district's official website Friday.
NOW ON is an integrated online service that consolidates previously scattered information on reconstruction and redevelopment projects in one place. Residents can use an interactive map to check the location and progress of projects across the district at a glance. For each project site, the platform provides the current stage of progress, general information including location and land area, the planned project scale, and contact details for the responsible department. Relevant materials such as bird's-eye renderings and redevelopment plans are also made available as projects advance through each phase.
NOW ON draws on the same data used by the "Smart Vision" system in the district mayor's office. In September, Nowon-gu upgraded its Smart Vision system, which allows officials to monitor key district projects and policies, as well as disaster and safety matters, in a single view. Through this setup, the district mayor plans to directly review the progress and key issues of individual projects and share major updates with residents.
Since the start of the ninth elected term, Nowon-gu has been strengthening support for reconstruction and redevelopment projects on two fronts: reforming the regulatory regime to improve project viability, and providing tailored on-site support for each complex. The district plans to add transparent information disclosure through NOW ON, giving residents a direct channel to check project progress and engage with the district.
Since the ninth elected term began, Nowon-gu has formed a "Reconstruction Fast-Track Task Force" and has been actively pushing forward with reconstruction efforts. Within roughly three months, five complexes — Sanggye Boram, Hagye Misung, Sanggye Jugong Complex 7, Junggye Jugong Complex 4 and Sanggye Madeul Daelim — have begun the process of forming promotion committees.
"We will enhance the transparency and credibility of reconstruction and redevelopment projects, while translating residents' voices on the ground into regulatory improvements and tailored support — delivering results that residents can truly feel," Nowon-gu District Mayor Seo Jun-o said.
