K bank is recruiting interns for the first half of next year, offering the possibility of conversion to full-time employment. The program will require all interns to complete practical assignments using AI, reflecting the company's emphasis on AI proficiency in its hiring and evaluation process.
K bank said Thursday it will accept applications for its "2027 First-Half Internship with Employment Track" until 5 p.m. on Oct. 26.
Applicants may choose from two tracks: Business and Marketing, or Technology. The program is open to those who have already earned a bachelor's degree or higher, as well as those expected to graduate by February next year. Graduates must have less than two years of full-time work experience.
The selection process consists of a document screening, an intermediate evaluation, an interview, a two-month internship and a final assessment leading to a full-time offer. Interns selected for the program will be placed in operational departments starting in January next year, and those who receive strong evaluations will be offered permanent positions.
The internship is part of K bank's "AI Native talent" acquisition strategy, which the company has pursued since the first half of this year. All interns will work under the guidance of their team leaders and mentors on assignments that include building AI agents, improving workflow efficiency and planning AI-based services. Each intern will set their own job-specific project and carry it through to completion.
The program reflects K bank's intention to assess AI capabilities not only in technical roles but also in business and marketing positions. Onboarding support will also be provided, including one-on-one mentoring with "sunbae," or senior employees, mandatory financial training and business etiquette sessions.
Applications are available through K bank's recruitment website. Details on job functions, required competencies, application tips and accounts from former interns can be found on the recruitment website, blog and YouTube channel.
"New employees who joined through the internship are growing into key talent by building expertise in their respective roles," a K bank official said. "We look forward to hearing from candidates who are ready to embrace AI as a new tool and actively apply it to their work."
