Corporation announces company-wide AI management overhaul
CEO to directly oversee and drive AI transition
Korea Land and Housing Corporation said Thursday it held an "LH AI Transformation" declaration ceremony at its Seoul regional headquarters, with President Lee Sung-hoon and senior executives in attendance.
The ceremony was organized to share the corporation's commitment to fundamentally overhauling its working practices and public services through AI, and to mark the launch of a company-wide AI management transformation.
At the event, Lee presented the AI transformation as LH's core management agenda going forward and officially launched an operating framework under which the CEO will directly drive and oversee the execution of AI transition initiatives.
Through his first CEO AI transition message, Lee announced specific action plans, including the establishment of a dedicated "AI Innovation Office." A declaration issued at the ceremony outlined three commitments: pursuing the AI transformation as LH's central management agenda, having the CEO directly support and promote the transition, and building an operating structure that links AI execution to company-wide management outcomes.
On that basis, LH said it plans to move beyond applying AI to individual projects or specific technology adoptions, connecting it instead to tangible management results such as accelerating housing supply and improving residential services for the public.
LH said it is already producing visible results by integrating AI across key operations, including construction site safety management, housing defect management and care services for residents.
At construction sites, the corporation has linked its AI video analysis system "Neulbom A-Eye" with its real-time integrated construction information system RICS to implement targeted safety management, identifying and monitoring 20 high-risk sites daily. AI-based automated earthwork design software using building information modeling is also expected to cut earthwork transport volume by about 7 percent.
LH has also introduced a one-stop defect management system in which AI automatically classifies and registers defect reports, cutting processing time by 31 percent — from 18 days to 12.5 days. An AI care phone service providing companionship and health management support for elderly people living alone has expanded sharply, with the number of beneficiaries growing from 1,200 last year to 9,400 this year.
Internally, LH has completed an "LH AI Work Knowledge System" that allows employees to search approximately 300,000 internal regulations and guidelines using natural language. The system is expected to save some 10,833 working hours annually.
"The AI transformation is a generational shift that will determine LH's competitiveness going forward," Lee said. "We will actively support and promote the AI transformation, starting with today's declaration ceremony, and work together with all staff to accelerate housing innovation for the public and deliver management results that people can feel."
Meanwhile, LH said it is also actively deploying AI technology in construction site safety management, rental housing care services and facilities management.
