Mapo-gu District Mayor Yoo Dong-gyun attended the second Mapo Kkokoma Daejang Festival — a children's outdoor festival — at Seoul Ham Park (205-5 Mangwon-dong) on Thursday morning, meeting with children and parents and encouraging childcare workers who organized the event.
Hosted by the Mapo-gu Daycare Center Federation, the festival drew about 700 participants, including children enrolled at local daycare centers and their parents.
The event opened with a traditional percussion performance and a parade. At the opening ceremony, Yoo presented commendations to winners of an ESG contest and offered congratulatory remarks.
The opening ceremony was followed by a variety of performances and hands-on activities. A children's play and a bubble magic show drew the attention of young attendees, while a tour of the Seoul Ham warship and inflatable bounce structures added to the fun. Children also enjoyed ESG-themed activities with their families — folk games, eco-bag decorating and face painting — creating memories together.
"Today belongs to our children, so I hope they laugh, run and play to their hearts' content and take home wonderful memories," Yoo said. "Mapo-gu will continue to be a strong support for children as they grow up bright and healthy."
