Fiji Airways to add 125,000 seats on key routes
Airline expands Asian hubs to open more travel options to Fiji
Frequency increases to roll out from first half of 2027
Fiji Airways will expand service on three major Asian routes in 2027, adding more than 125,000 seats annually, as the carrier moves to step up its push into the South Korean travel market.
The national carrier of Fiji announced Monday it will increase flight frequencies on routes connecting Tokyo, Hong Kong and Singapore to boost connectivity between key Asian markets and Fiji and give travelers a wider range of scheduling options.
On the Tokyo Narita route, the airline plans to increase flights from twice to three times a week on a seasonal basis starting in April and August 2027. The Hong Kong route will expand from three to five weekly flights beginning in February 2027, while the Singapore route will go from two to three weekly flights from March. The increases are intended to give Korean travelers more itinerary options and improve international transit connections through Nadi.
The expansion is part of a broader global network growth strategy. Combined with a new service to Western Sydney and increased flights to Christchurch, the three Asian route upgrades will add more than 125,000 seats to the airline's international network.
The airline is also running marketing campaigns targeting the South Korean market. In September, three Korean travel content creators — Joy (Kim Su-jin), Jello (Kwon Eun-kyeong) and Jeongkong (Hwang Jeong-bin) — visited Fiji to experience tourism offerings on the main island and on Tokoriki and Malolo islands. Their first short-form video surpassed 400,000 views within two days of posting, and additional content is set to be released through the end of the year.
Fiji Airways' Korea sales and marketing representative described Fiji as a destination made up of around 330 islands, each with its own distinct character, and said the country's wide range of small resorts makes it ideal for travelers seeking a getaway tailored to their preferences. "From private resort stays and private island rentals to diverse water activities and cultural experiences, Fiji is the perfect destination for travelers who want both complete relaxation and adventure," the representative said.
The network expansion will be carried out by redeploying existing aircraft rather than adding new ones. The airline aims to absorb growing global demand by strengthening Nadi's role as a regional aviation hub.
Fiji Airways CEO Paul Scurrah said the 2027 network expansion would make it easier for more travelers around the world to visit Fiji. "These increases will improve convenience for passengers connecting onward through Nadi to a wider network, and they carry real significance for local communities whose livelihoods depend on tourism," he said.
Tickets for the expanded 2027 routes are available through online channels and major travel agencies.
