Gijang-gun wins prime minister's commendation for national statistics work

Gijang-gun in Busan announced Tuesday that it received a prime minister's institutional commendation Monday at the Government Daejeon Complex, where the Ministry of Statistics held an award ceremony honoring distinguished service in large-scale statistical surveys for 2024–2026.

The commendation, presented at an event organized by the Ministry of Statistics, recognized Gijang-gun for its systematic survey preparation, efficient data-collection framework and close coordination with relevant agencies — contributions that improved the accuracy and reliability of national statistics.

The district posted particularly strong results, ranking second in Busan in the Population and Housing Census and first in Busan in the Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Census. Gijang-gun said it plans to use the recognition as a springboard to produce more accurate and reliable statistical data to underpin key local government policies.
