Shinsegae Department Store said Wednesday that the average purchase value through its VIP-exclusive platform, the Showcase, surpassed 100 million won ($74,600) this year — more than five times the 20 million won recorded last year.
Launched in November 2024, the Showcase operates through the department store's app and offers products and services not typically available in brick-and-mortar stores, including automobiles, premium liquor, traditional crafts and custom interior consulting. The platform has gained traction among VIP customers by combining hard-to-find products with personalized services tailored to individual tastes.
Supercars have emerged as a standout category. Shinsegae partnered with Lamborghini Seoul this year to offer the brand's vehicles through the Showcase, selling more than 10 supercars within three months of the collaboration's launch. Sales exceeded 6 billion won. Among the models sold was the Revuelto, the brand's flagship, priced at over 1.1 billion won.
Demand for premium residential interiors has also proven strong. The custom kitchen brand Cucinella, introduced on the Showcase in October, received about 100 consultation inquiries after its debut. Nearly half of those customers received estimates of around 300 million won.
"Through the Showcase, Shinsegae Department Store will expand its distinctive product curation and personalized services, developing the platform into one that offers VIP customers an even more exceptional experience," said Lee Sung-hwan, executive vice president of sales strategy at Shinsegae Department Store.
