Yeongcheon in North Gyeongsang Province signed an MOU with Korea Polytechnics on Thursday to cultivate locally rooted talent for the future robot industry.
The signing ceremony was held at the Korea Polytechnics Robot Campus and was attended by Yeongcheon Mayor Kim Byung-sam, Korea Polytechnics board Chairman Lee Cheol-su and other officials.
The agreement covers the development of locally rooted talent aligned with Yeongcheon's strategic projects and the needs of regional businesses, mutual cooperation in operating the Robot Campus, and the running of vocational skills development and career exploration programs for local residents and students.
Through the partnership, the Robot Campus aims to strengthen its standing as a technology- and employment-focused institution, while Yeongcheon seeks to enhance corporate capacity and improve the education and employment environment in the region.
"This agreement is part of our effort to build a virtuous cycle in which young people in our region learn, grow and settle here stably," Mayor Kim said.
