Applications open through Tuesday — 35 spots for multicultural families, foreign residents
Gwangju city is recruiting participants for a cultural outing program designed to give multicultural families and foreign residents a chance to experience Korean culture and strengthen family bonds.
The event will be held Nov. 27 at Lotte World Aquarium and Lotte World Adventure in Songpa-gu, Seoul. A total of 35 multicultural family members and foreign residents from the area are eligible to participate.
Spots will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis, though the city plans to give priority to households that did not take part in the same event last year and to families with children. Children from multicultural families must be at least 6 years old — born in 2020 or later — and must be accompanied by a guardian.
Applications are open through Tuesday. Those wishing to join must submit an application form and a copy of their resident registration certificate, required for travel insurance enrollment, to the Women and Family Division at Gwangju City Hall.
Gwangju city runs a range of cultural experience programs each year to help multicultural families and foreign residents adjust to life in South Korea and to promote mutual understanding within the local community.
