SGC Partners announced Thursday that it signed an MOU with North Jeolla Technopark last month to identify promising companies in North Jeolla Province and promote investment activity in the region.

Under the agreement, the two organizations will jointly scout high-growth companies in the province and explore support measures including investment review and IR linkages.

North Jeolla Technopark will draw on the information and networks it has built through years of supporting local businesses to identify investment-worthy companies and refer them to SGC Partners. It will also support referred companies throughout the entire process until they secure investment.

SGC Partners will conduct multifaceted reviews of the business viability and growth potential of referred companies, and plans to offer professional consultations and IR sessions for companies under investment consideration to improve the prospects of concrete investment.

In addition, the two sides will connect their investment networks and identify and support tailored growth programs for individual companies.

North Jeolla Technopark Director Lee Gyu-taek said the MOU "lays the groundwork for connecting promising local companies to the private investment market," adding that the organization would "strengthen investment linkages and support suited to each stage of a company's growth to help revitalize the regional industry."

SGC Partners CEO Seo Young-hyun said the agreement is expected to "serve as a genuine springboard for growth for innovative companies in the province," and pledged to "actively nurture promising companies that will breathe new vitality into the local economy through close cooperation."

SGC Partners is a corporate venture capital firm established in 2021 that currently manages venture funds worth 140 billion won ($104 million).

Most recently, the firm joined as a co-general partner in an AI data center project in Gunsan, where it oversees core infrastructure development and fundraising for the AI data center industry.
