6 teams selected from 146 entries after final judging
Korea Ocean Business Corp. held the final presentation judging and awards ceremony for its marine environment conservation ideas contest, "Finding the Answer," at the Busan Port International Exhibition and Convention Center on Monday.
The contest was organized to raise public awareness of and participation in marine environmental issues, and to identify practical ideas for protecting the marine environment that can be applied in everyday life and industrial settings.
A total of 146 ideas were submitted across three categories — 74 in civic participation and practice, 39 in marine industry linkage, and 33 in awareness improvement. From those, 10 entries advanced to the first round of judging, from which the final winners were chosen.
The final judging evaluated entries on the completeness of their implementation plans, feasibility and effectiveness, presentation delivery, and results of idea-related activities. Six teams were selected in total — one grand prize winner, two excellence award winners and three merit award winners — and the recipients shared a combined prize pool of 8 million won ($5,970).
Korea Ocean Business Corp. said it plans to review the feasibility of the top ideas and explore ways to link them with future corporate social responsibility projects in cooperation with relevant agencies.
