All 10 students who entered from Keimyung College's hotel culinary program took home awards at the 27th Korea Dahyang Festival National Tea Cuisine Cooking Competition, held Saturday.

The competition, held as part of the Korea Dahyang Festival, is a national culinary contest designed to blend traditional Korean tea culture with contemporary cuisine and to uncover creative cooking techniques and food culture content using tea.

The Keimyung College students drew high marks from judges for expressing the flavors of tea in harmony with a variety of ingredients through creative culinary techniques.

First-year students Kang Min-seung and Lee Seung-min took the gold award, while first-year students Park Jun-seok and Lee Dong-geon, and Im Hyeon-yeong and Jeong Eun-yeong each received silver awards.

Second-year international students Bereshagina Marna of Ukraine and Cholokhunbatar Shorhu of Mongolia received the Special Dahyang Award, while second-year students Gwak Eun-ji and Kim Seo-hyeon received the Special Food Award.

Jang Sang-jun, the hotel culinary program's head professor who coached the students, said the department would continue to provide tailored practical education and support so students can demonstrate their creative abilities at external competitions and in professional settings.
