Breath valve keeps kimchi crunchier and more flavorful, company says
Lock&Lock has unveiled a new "breathing" unpolished stainless steel kimchi container designed to release fermentation gases.
The new product features a breath valve specially designed for kimchi fermentation, allowing gases produced during the aging process to escape while blocking outside air from entering once fermentation is complete — keeping kimchi crunchier and more flavorful, the company said.
The container body uses Posco's STS304 stainless steel, which prevents odor absorption and staining. An electrolytic polishing process also eliminates concerns about chemical polishing agent residue, the company said.
The lid is made of transparent Ecozen material, making it easy to check the contents and safe to use in a dishwasher without warping, Lock&Lock said. A handle-style lid adds convenience, and a dome-shaped top provides extra capacity for larger kimchi portions.
"We are also drawing attention with brand content that shares know-how on keeping kimchi crunchier and more flavorful," a company official said.
