'Korean mission communicating with local community, Philippine authorities'
The South Korean government said Monday that no South Korean nationals have been killed or injured in the magnitude-7.8 earthquake that struck off the southern coast of Mindanao in the Philippines, though some property damage — including partial housing collapses — has been reported.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said the Korean mission in the Philippines is in contact with the local Korean community and Philippine authorities, continuing to assess whether any nationals have been affected, and will provide consular assistance as needed.
