Korea Ocean Business Corp. freight indexes now available on national logistics platform

Maritime freight indexes and shipping market data from Korea Ocean Business Corp. are now accessible through the National Logistics Integration Information Center.

Korea Ocean Business Corp. announced Friday that it has partnered with the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport to provide the KOBC Container Freight Index (KCCI) and the KOBC Dry Bulk Index (KDCI) through the center's website starting Thursday. The move expands the distribution channels for the corporation's maritime freight indexes and shipping market data, which are already available through Bloomberg Terminal and the Korea Trade-Investment Promotion Agency (KOTRA) overseas economic information service.

The National Logistics Integration Information Center is a national logistics information platform built and operated by the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport that collects and links logistics-related data to deliver a range of user-oriented services. Through the new integration, users can now check the latest maritime freight indexes and shipping market conditions in real time on the platform.

Korea Ocean Business Corp. said the service will allow shipping companies, cargo owners and logistics firms to more quickly track freight rate movements and market trends in the global shipping industry through the center. It added that it expects users to leverage the data in building more efficient logistics and transport strategies.
