Gaon Cable becomes first Asian firm to earn North American certification for AI data center cable bus

Gaon Cable said Friday it has obtained CSA safety certification in North America for its cable bus system — a high-capacity power transmission solution — becoming the first Asian company to do so.

A cable bus arranges multiple medium- and low-voltage cables at fixed intervals inside a rigid metal enclosure to transmit large amounts of power reliably. It is used in AI data centers, large industrial facilities and power plants to deliver high currents safely and efficiently.

The system is more cost-effective than conventional conduit-based methods and offers superior installation efficiency, as it is pre-engineered and prefabricated to match site conditions. It is also regarded as a high-value-added power solution that shields cables from the external environment while improving current capacity, heat dissipation and ease of maintenance.

With the certification in hand, Gaon Cable said it has built a comprehensive high-capacity power solution portfolio spanning cables, cable buses and bus ducts. The company plans to use that lineup to target the North American market, covering everything from the external power grid to the internal distribution network of AI data centers.
