DGIST hosts UAM future aviation forum for Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province

DGIST held the "National Strategy and Transportation Infrastructure-Linked Daegu·North Gyeongsang UAM Future Aviation Forum" on Thursday at the Daegu Scale-Up Hub (DASH).

DGIST organized the event in collaboration with its UAM Project Group and ICT Research Division, the Daegu Research and Development Special Zone headquarters, and Daegu Technopark. The city of Daegu, the Smart Drone Technology Center (Kyungpook National University iACT) and the Intelligent Automotive Parts Promotion Institute participated as supporting organizations.

The forum focused on strategies for advancing future aviation in Daegu and North Gyeongsang Province, drawing on the region's transportation and industrial conditions in line with the government's policy direction for commercializing K-UAM. Discussions centered particularly on ways to link UAM with key regional infrastructure, including the Daegu-Gyeongbuk New Airport, the Daegu Industrial Line, metropolitan railways and industrial complexes.

The forum proceeded across three sessions. Park Ji-ho, head of the DGIST UAM Project Group, said the event was "a meaningful occasion to discuss concrete directions for connecting the Daegu and North Gyeongsang UAM project directly to regional transportation networks, industrial infrastructure and demonstration platforms — moving beyond broad policy concepts."
