Seom Air launches summer promotion with up to 60% off Gimpo-Sacheon flights

Regional air carrier Seom Air Co. (CEO Choi Yong-deok) has launched a summer holiday promotion offering flight discounts and rental car partnerships for travelers heading to southern coast destinations including Sacheon, Tongyeong, Geoje and Namhae, as rising exchange rates push more vacationers toward domestic travel.

Amid the influence of the recent international situation, holiday travelers have been turning their attention to domestic destinations, and the South Sea coastal region has been gaining traction as a holiday destination, partly fueled by the viral "Geoje Yaho" meme spreading through online communities. Visitors from the Greater Seoul area can reach major tourism cities along the southern coast in about two hours by air, a convenience that has helped drive the trend.

Through late August, Seom Air is offering discounts of up to 60% on select round-trip flights on its Gimpo-Sacheon route through travel agencies Webtour and Seonmin Tour. Partner agency Jetsetter is also offering one-way fares starting at 50,000 won ($33). The airline has also made its tickets available on major online platforms including Naver, Gmarket and Auction, having previously sold them only through its own website.

Travelers who book an SK Rent-a-Car vehicle alongside a Seom Air ticket can receive up to 50% off the vehicle insurance fee. A "delivery pickup" service allows passengers to collect their rental car directly at Sacheon Airport, enabling a seamless journey along the southern coast without additional transfers. The promotion will be available on the SK Rent-a-Car website starting July 1.

"Flying Seom Air, which operates four round trips a day between Gimpo and Sacheon, gets you from Gimpo to Sacheon in one hour and from Sacheon to southern coast destinations in under an hour, making travel to the South Gyeongsang coastal region much more convenient," a Seom Air official said. "Travelers heading from the South Gyeongsang region to the Greater Seoul area will also find the journey easier."
