Iran to use portion of frozen funds to buy US corn, wheat and soybeans, Trump says

US President Donald Trump said Wednesday that Iran had notified Washington it would not impose tolls, insurance fees or any other charges on vessels transiting the Strait of Hormuz.
In a post on his Truth Social account, Trump said that "despite the troublemaking Fake News, which reports the opposite of facts, Iran has let the United States know that there are 'no tolls, insurance fees, or any other charges being requested or collected in the Strait of Hormuz.'"
He then warned that "if this notification proves to be false, follow-up negotiations" — to be pursued after a ceasefire agreement — "will end immediately."
Trump also said no money had been provided to Iran by the United States and that no frozen funds had been released or paid to them.
He went on to say that "some of their money, which we totally control, will be given to our farmers and ranchers" for the purchase of US corn, wheat and soybeans.
"Iran desperately needs food, and we will buy it for them, only from the United States," he said.
