100 unemployed youth aged 34 and under to be selected
Program covers AI skills and specialized display industry training
LG Display announced Thursday it is launching a specialized display training program called "Let's Grow with LG Display" and is now accepting applications from unemployed young people.
The program is part of the K-New Deal Academy initiative, a project jointly run by the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Energy and the Ministry of Employment and Labor, under which companies design and operate their own practical workforce development programs.
A total of 100 participants aged 34 and under who are currently unemployed will be selected. Applications are open through July 16 via the LG Display newsroom, and training will run for approximately three months beginning in August.
The curriculum combines foundational career-development coursework with specialized modules covering AI skills and hands-on display technology. Participants will also receive job-search support, including mentoring sessions with current employees, one-on-one resume consultations and mock interviews.
LG Display has embedded into the curriculum the practical know-how and latest technology trends accumulated through its development of world-first and world-leading OLED technology, with an emphasis on real-world application. Instructors are senior-level researchers with more than a decade of experience in the display field, alongside other credentialed specialists.
The program is designed so that participants without a technical background can build skills from the ground up. A key focus is teaching trainees how to apply AI — increasingly important across the manufacturing sector — to actual work tasks, strengthening their competitiveness in the job market.
Through the program, LG Display said it plans to broaden the talent base for the future display industry and help build an ecosystem for developing talent through industry-academia and industry linkages.
Selected participants will receive a monthly youth stipend of 300,000 won ($195), and graduates will be awarded an official certificate of completion along with an electronic product featuring an LG Display panel.
"Simply experiencing practical trends such as AI applications firsthand will be a great help in job seeking," an LG Display official said. "We aim to be a trusted mentor for young people as they build practical skills and enter the workforce."
