Ulsan's Jinha Beach opens Friday for 67-day summer season

Ulju-gun in Ulsan is opening Jinha Beach on Friday — earlier than usual in response to this year's early heat wave — and will keep it running through late August for a total of 67 days.

To ensure beachgoer safety, authorities will deploy 79 personnel from the police, fire department and coast guard, with water safety officers and rescue equipment stationed along the entire beach.

A mooring dock for safety management, jet skis and all-terrain vehicles will also be on hand, and six safety watchtowers have been installed to eliminate blind spots. Jellyfish barrier nets will be set up, and an ambulance will be on standby for medical emergencies.

For visitors' convenience, tubes, life jackets and parasols will be available free of charge, and temporary shower facilities and restrooms have been set up.

Ulju-gun has also lined up a series of events to coincide with the beach season: the Ulju Marine Leisure Grand Festival on July 25-26, the Ulju Jinha Beach Festival on July 31, and the Ulsan Summer Festival on Aug. 8.

"Jinha Beach is Ulju-gun's premier tourism destination where marine leisure and relaxation come together, and we have made extensive preparations so that visitors can enjoy a comfortable summer retreat," a Ulju-gun official said.
