Taekwang Industrial will provide ESG compliance support to its small and midsize suppliers.
The company signed a mutual-growth ESG management MOU with the Ministry of Climate, Environment and Energy and the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute on Friday, committing to deliver ESG consulting services to partner firms. A Taekwang Industrial official said the agreement was designed to help suppliers navigate tightening global supply chain regulations and growing ESG disclosure requirements.
Under the arrangement, Taekwang Industrial will support suppliers in preparing for supply chain due diligence and improving eco-friendly production processes. The Ministry of Climate, Environment and Energy will help build and operate the cooperative framework across the program, while the Korea Environmental Industry and Technology Institute will provide specialized services including ESG consulting, environmental information disclosure and product-level carbon emissions management.
Taekwang Industrial will begin by offering priority consulting to five suppliers, including J-Tech. Based on diagnostic assessments of each company's current ESG standing, the program will identify areas for improvement and provide support covering environmental management systems, environmental disclosure compliance and supply chain due diligence preparation.
"We are pursuing ESG cooperation activities with the understanding that our suppliers' competitiveness is our own," a Taekwang Industrial official said. "We will continue to expand a sustainable foundation for growth together with our partners."
