Gyeongcheong, a public-interest foundation dedicated to restoring the rights of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners, announced Friday that its founder, Bucheon University professor Son Tae-bok, received a commendation from the minister of SMEs and Startups at the Korea Patent Attorneys Association's 80th anniversary ceremony.
Son was selected for the award in recognition of his contributions to social responsibility and public values through the establishment of Gyeongcheong.
Son established Gyeongcheong as a public-interest foundation in 2019 to protect and restore the rights of small and medium-sized enterprises and small business owners in South Korea. Since then, he has actively pursued public-interest work, including seeking redress for companies harmed by technology theft, advocating for systemic reform, and providing legal counsel to small business owners.
