DL E&C has been selected as the contractor for Mokdong Complex 6, the fastest-moving reconstruction project in the Mokdong Sinsigage district.
At a general meeting of the Complex 6 reconstruction association held Saturday at Yangjeong High School in Yangcheon-gu, Seoul, DL E&C secured the contract with 1,032 votes out of 1,196 cast, or 86.2 percent.
After reconstruction, the complex will be transformed into a development of 14 buildings rising up to 49 above-ground floors with two below-ground levels, comprising 2,173 units based on the association's original design plan. The construction cost is estimated at 1.29 trillion won ($833 million).
DL E&C submitted a sole bid proposing the name "Acro Mokdong Regency," applying its high-end Acro brand to the project, and was ultimately selected as contractor after being named the preferred negotiating partner.
The company partnered with global architectural design group Jerde on a three-dimensional exterior design and a layout optimized for Han River views. It also teamed up with Arup, a British firm with expertise in super-tall structural engineering, and global landscape design group MSP to raise construction quality and the standard of landscaping.
Community facilities and residential amenities have also been significantly enhanced. The plans expand both the community area and parking capacity beyond the association's original proposal and include an indoor swimming pool, a family spa and private dining rooms. Also planned are an education-focused community platform tailored to Mokdong's reputation as a top school district, and Han River-view amenities such as a sky lounge and sky pool villa.
"We will complete a symbolic landmark that leads Mokdong's future value, backed by global design capabilities and a residential philosophy befitting the title of Mokdong's first Acro project," a DL E&C official said.
