MOU to standardize color system and produce design manual
'An extension of the IPARK brand renewal'
IPARK Hyundai Development said Monday it will develop a color system and paint standards for IPARK residential complexes in partnership with KCC, a leading domestic color and paint specialist.
The two companies signed an MOU at KCC's headquarters on June 26, committing to establish signature color standards for the IPARK brand and produce a comprehensive color design manual.
The agreement extends the IPARK brand renewal that IPARK Hyundai Development launched to mark the 50th anniversary of its parent, HDC Group. The core objective is to standardize the colors, paint finishes and materials applied to complex exteriors, residential buildings, below-ground parking areas and common spaces — and to codify those standards in a design manual — with the goal of delivering a consistent spatial experience to customers.
The new color system will also incorporate Color Universal Design principles, intended to make spaces intuitively navigable for people with color vision deficiencies and elderly residents alike. By applying Color Universal Design, the company aims to clearly distinguish pedestrian and vehicle circulation routes while improving spatial legibility and wayfinding convenience.
"There have been limitations in achieving uniformity in paint colors and finishing standards, but through this agreement we expect to provide customers with a more consistent experience and to maintain stable quality control," an IPARK Hyundai Development official said.
Meanwhile, IPARK Hyundai Development recently completed a full brand renewal, setting out a goal to expand IPARK beyond a residential brand into a life platform encompassing all aspects of customers' lives. The company posted sales of 673.9 billion won ($436 million) and an operating profit of 80.1 billion won on a consolidated basis in the first quarter of this year, with its operating profit margin recovering to double digits on a quarterly basis for the first time in about five years.
