Cheongsong-gun council elects Shim Sang-hyu as speaker, Park Shin-young as deputy

The Cheongsong-gun Council in North Gyeongsang Province held its 288th extraordinary session Tuesday and completed the formation of its new leadership.

At the session's first plenary meeting, held at 11 a.m. in the main chamber, council members elected Shim Sang-hyu as speaker and Park Shin-young as deputy speaker.

"I will work to support the speaker and build a council that communicates openly with its members," Park said. "I will listen to the voices of residents and cooperate with the executive branch for the development of the region."

Shim said he would take the trust and support shown to him as a weighty mandate to serve more responsibly. "I will listen more closely to the voices of residents and strive to bring about changes they can feel in their daily lives," he said.
