LG Electronics opens HVAC training hubs in Taiwan, Singapore to cultivate local engineers

LG Electronics has established new heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) business hubs in Taichung, Taiwan, and Singapore as part of its push into local markets.

According to LG Electronics on Wednesday, HVAC academies recently opened in both Taichung and Singapore. The academies host forums for engineers who install various air conditioning products and hold seminars for consultants responsible for designing HVAC systems in client facilities and large buildings.

LG Electronics currently operates about 70 HVAC academies across more than 40 countries, spanning Asia, Europe, North America, Latin America and Africa.

Each academy trains more than 30,000 HVAC engineers annually through education covering installation of a range of air conditioning products — including residential and commercial heating and cooling systems, high-efficiency chillers and liquid cooling solutions (coolant distribution units) — maintenance, and engineering skills for HVAC solution design.

The academies also serve as venues for expanding contact with key regional B2B stakeholders and identifying diverse business opportunities.

The HVAC business demands highly skilled technical specialists because regulations and installation conditions vary by region and country, and factors such as building scale and purpose, maintenance requirements and energy efficiency all require careful consideration.

With that in mind, LG Electronics continues to expand its global HVAC academy network. In May, the company opened a new academy in Poznan, Poland, adding to existing facilities in Warsaw and Wroclaw, giving it the largest number of HVAC academies among European countries.

The Poznan academy comprises classrooms, a showroom and hands-on practice spaces. It will be used to strengthen engagement with B2B customers through new solution experiences and retail-linked education programs.

LG Electronics is also expanding its HVAC academy presence in Global South markets, including Abidjan in Côte d'Ivoire and Santiago, Chile.
