North Gyeongsang Health College, Gimcheon Social Welfare Council sign MOU for worker training

North Gyeongsang Health College signed a memorandum of understanding with the Gimcheon City Social Welfare Council on Tuesday to strengthen the job competencies of workers at local social welfare institutions.

The agreement aims to raise the professional and practical skills of staff at 27 social welfare organizations registered with the council and to establish a sustained job training framework to improve the quality of welfare services in the community.

The signing ceremony was held at the Gimcheon Bugok Social Welfare Center and was attended by officials from the college's Regional Learning Development Office, council chair Cha Ho-young and representatives from both institutions.

Under the MOU, the two sides agreed to pursue a range of cooperative initiatives, including tailored job training programs for workers at local social welfare institutions, development of curricula reflecting regional needs, and exchanges of professional personnel through industry-academia collaboration.

As the first joint project under the agreement, the college will host a training session on July 10 for 35 staff members affiliated with the Gimcheon City Social Welfare Council, covering practical skills in public relations and counseling using generative AI.

"We will continue to expand customized education programs that enhance the job competencies of workers at local institutions, building on this agreement," college President Lee Eun-jik said.
